In an incredibly challenging and unpredictable year for students and staff alike, we have secured outstanding outcomes which are a true reflection of the incredibly hard work undertaken by everyone at Greenford High School.

Just under three quarters of our cohort achieved grades 9 to 5 including English and Maths, an incredible achievement considering the level of disruption our students have faced. At the 9-4 threshold, 87%, achieved passes including English and Maths. Our Progress 8 score was +0.81, which means that, on average, students achieved almost a whole grade higher in their subjects, compared to students across the country with similar prior attainment data.

Performance was very strong across the board with 83% of students achieving a grade at 5 or above in English and 76% achieving a grade 5 or above in Maths. In the separate Science subjects, over 80% of grades were between the top grades of 9-7, with similarly strong performances in Geography, Computing, Drama and Economics, which saw well over 50% of grades being awarded at the top end. 

A special mention goes to Sumaiya Butt and Maisah Kabir who achieved grade 9s across all of their subjects and to Murad Hussain, Daniel Dimitrov and Basira Rashid, who achieved all grades 8-9.

Greenford Headteacher Mia Pye said: “I am delighted with these results, and so pleased for our students who have worked incredibly hard during what has been one of the most challenging years in education in living memory.

“The results are a testament to the students’ hard work both in school and during lockdown, where high quality online learning provided by our dedicated, expert teachers, meant that students continued to access strong support and provision, even when they were not in school.

“We look forward to welcoming back most of our Year 11 students to join our Post 16 Centre in September.”
