Greenford celebrates A Level and BTEC results
Greenford High School is thrilled to report an outstanding set of A level and BTEC results.
A fantastic 26% of all grades were at A/A* with 50% at A*- B. Twenty students achieved all three grades at A*- A and almost 20% of the cohort achieved at least two grade A/A* results. Almost three quarters of grades were at Grade A*- C. This is an excellent achievement and we are extremely proud of the hard work our students and staff put in to achieve these outstanding results. In BTEC, students have also achieved superb results with almost 70% achieving Distinction+ and over 90% achieving a Merit or higher.
Whilst all of our students have done exceptionally well, there have been some notable achievements with three students securing places at Oxbridge: Lauren-Ava Carey and Tejuspreet Ubhi will be studying at Oxford University (Ancient and Modern History and Biochemistry respectively) whilst Meiya Ooi will be studying Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge University. Salah Altaleb, having achieved 3 A*s, will be going off to study at the world-renowned California Institute of Technology.
Bavneet Sehra, Karan Brar and Riya Maugi all achieved a perfect 3 A*s. Bavneet will be studying Engineering at Imperial; Karan, Computer Science at King’s and Riya, Economics at UCL.
We are delighted that ten students secured a place on a medicine/ dentistry programme: Zainab Ferhat (Imperial); Bansi Patel (UCL); Musawer Yousufy, Muhamed Al-Farttoosi, Jasmin Matta, Saleem Mohamed and Abdirahman Said (Queen Mary); Sofia Sahibudin and Abuzhar Butt (King’s) and Yazan Al Istewani (Brunel).
There should also be special mention made of the following students who achieved straight A* and A grades: Syed Abbas, Muhammed Abbas-Ibrahim, Manraj Bhachu, Assia Bouras, Sageethan Dayananthan, Nattalie Gutierrez, Malisa Rahman, Suber Said, Manveen Singh, Piraniya Thavarajah and Mohammed Yusuf.
For those taking a purely BTEC route, outstanding results were obtained by Emily Sanchez, Zobair Omar, Sehaj Singh, Mikhail Thalukdar, Harleen Arri and Leah Judge.
Headteacher, Mia Pye, said “I am enormously proud of each and every one of our students who have achieved such amazing results. It is a privilege to lead a school where our students and staff work so hard together to achieve the very best outcomes. Once again, our students will be heading off to embark on first-class university courses and apprenticeships and we wish them all the very best.”
